Natural type II collagen in its most bioactive form 

Type II collagen is the most important structural protein in joint cartilage. Diseases such as arthrosis, rheumatoid arthritis and gout, but also obesity and sports or accidental injuries can lead to persistent joint inflammation with increased collagen degradation.

Pro Flex contains UC-II®, an innovative type II collagen in native, undenatured form. Its patented, gentle manufacturing process ensures that the natural triple helix structure of the collagen is preserved. As a result, the collagen retains its full biological activity. 

UC-II® collagen has been proven in several studies* specifically for inflammation and joint pain. It has the unique property of calming the excessive immune reactions against the body's own joint collagen. In this way, it counteracts inflammation and at the same time promotes the regeneration of joint tissue.

Native collagen ‒ The matter of tolerance

In the case of inflammation or wear-related cartilage degradation in the joint, released collagen fragments are classified by the immune system as foreign bodies and attacked.  The native UC-II® collagen in Pro Flex inhibits this immune reaction by building up an "oral tolerance". This works in a similar way to hyposensitisation in the case of an allergy: by regularly taking small amounts of collagen, the immune system learns to tolerate the supposed antigen and stops its defence measures. The inflammation subsides and the joint tissue can regenerate. 

Since even a small intake is sufficient for tolerance formation, UC-II® collagen already relieves joint pain more effectively with a daily dose of only 40 mg than the frequently used combination of glucosamine and chondroitin*.

Eggshell membrane: building blocks for joint regeneration 

The eggshell membrane is just as solid a shock absorber as human joint cartilage. No wonder: it contains ‒ naturally combined ‒ the same building materials, including different types of collagen, hyaluronic acid, glucosamine and chondroitin. The eggshell membrane thus provides important building blocks for the regeneration of joint tissue. Pro Flex contains the branded raw material OVOMET®, a naturally pure eggshell membrane that is sustainably produced in a patented process.

Boswellic acids from Indian frankincense 

The resin of the Indian frankincense (Boswellia serrata) is traditionally used to relieve joint pain. Its anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effect has now been proven by research. The specific boswellic acids of frankincense, which are only found in this plant, are primarily responsible for the positive effects. The frankincense extract in Pro Flex is standardised to a content of 65 percent boswellic acids.

Boron as highly bioavailable calcium fructoborate

Boron also has an anti-inflammatory effect on the joints. Calcium fructoborate, an organic and highly bioavailable boron compound that occurs naturally in fruits, vegetables, nuts and legumes, shows amazing results for joint pain. Pro Flex contains FruiteX-B®, the only branded raw material for calcium fructoborate currently on the market.
