Melatonin – gentle support for falling asleep

Melatonin is an endogenous hormone that is released in greater quantities in the dark and signals to our body that it is time to go to sleep. However, stress, time differences or shift work can throw this natural regulation out of balance – it becomes more difficult to fall asleep, and the sleep rhythm gets out of sync.

Pro Melatonin Depot contains high-quality melatonin in the innovative melotime™ formulation, which ensures an immediate and sustained release over several hours. Conventional melatonin causes the level in the body to rise quickly and fall again just as quickly. According to studies, depot technology has a different effect: it ensures a slower rise and a more even release throughout the night¹. Camomile blossom and reishi – natural companions for relaxed nights

In addition to slow-release melatonin, Pro Melatonin Depot contains two natural companions that gently support the transition to sleep: Camomile flower extract and reishi powder. 

Camomile (Matricaria recutita) is one of the best-known and most traditional medicinal plants in Europe. Its flowers contain flavonoids and terpenoids, i.e. certain secondary plant substances, and act via the so-called GABAA receptor – a central switch point for relaxation and inner calm. In studies, chamomile flower extract was able to significantly improve the quality of sleep, the time it takes to fall asleep and recovery – with fewer interruptions during the night.²

The reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum), also known as "ling zhi" or shiny lacquer mushroom, has been valued in Asia for thousands of years for sleep problems. Its relaxing effect is also associated with GABAA receptor activity. Animal studies have shown that reishi can both shorten the time it takes to fall asleep and prolong the duration of sleep.^3,4 Together, camomile and reishi form an evening herbal formula that gently calms the body and mind.

• Melatonin helps to shorten the time it takes to fall asleep. The positive effect occurs when 1 mg of melatonin is taken shortly before going to sleep.
• Melatonin helps to alleviate the subjective feeling of jet lag. The positive effect is achieved if at least 0.5 mg of melatonin is taken shortly before going to bed on the first day of travelling and on the first few days after arriving at the destination.

chamomile flower extract (28.8 %); reishi powder (Ganoderma lucidum) (28.8 %); pullulan (capsule shell size 1); rice flour; melatonin (0.6 %)
