Liposomal vitamin C plus bioflavonoid complex: Pro Vitamin C Ultra offers you the opportunity to achieve particularly effective and long-lasting high plasma levels of vitamin C thanks to the innovative branded raw material FenuMat^TM. The vitamin C (buffered calcium ascorbate) in this raw material is liposomally packaged and continuously released in the body. As a result, the vitamin C plasma level remains at an effective level for up to 12 hours and the bioavailability is 7 times higher than with conventional vitamin C.

The additional bioflavonoid complex (quercetin, rutin, hesperidin) also reinforces the positive antioxidant mechanisms of vitamin C. The liposomal packaging of quercetin makes it 20 times more bioavailable than other quercetin raw materials.

Liposomal vitamin C for improved absorption and slow release

Liposomes have a cell membrane-like structure, which is why they can fuse with the body's cells and release the active ingredient directly into the cells. With Pro Vitamin C Ultra, the liposomal formulation ensures improved absorption of the vitamin in the intestine. The branded raw material FenuMat^TM packs the vitamin in the form of calcium ascorbate in a phospholipid bilayer which consists of lecithin. This liposomal form is then embedded in a plant-based hydrogel. As part of a complex process, the liposomes are converted into powder form so that they can be filled into capsules.

The packaging in the plant-based hydrogel ensures gradual release, longer-lasting effective vitamin C levels in the blood and consequently a 7-fold increase in the bioavailability of the vitamin C.

Bioflavonoids for synergy effects

As vitamins are never found in isolation in nature, for example in fruit and vegetables, we have added the well-researched bioflavonoids quercetin, rutin and hesperidin to vitamin C. This not only makes sense in nature, but also for us humans.

Bioflavonoids belong to the group of polyphenols, i.e. they are secondary plant substances that protect plants against diseases. A study* has also shown that the bioavailability of vitamin C increases by 35 percent when it is present together with bioflavonoids. Bioflavonoids and vitamin C also have an antioxidant effect. They therefore scavenge free radicals, which occur more frequently during stress or sport, for example. This means that the vitamin C is used up less quickly and the vitamin C requirement is reduced, which also promotes longer-lasting effective vitamin C levels in the blood.

We also use a liposomal quercetin, which also has a high bioavailability. The bioflavonoid is protected in the intestine by the liposomal formulation and is not broken down in the intestine, but can fulfill its positive properties in the cells of the entire body. The two bioflavonoids quercetin and rutin are obtained from a Japanese cord tree extract. The hesperidin comes from a bitter orange fruit extract.
