All the good ingredients from the cow's first milk: Pro Agalostrum contains the particularly nutritious colostrum of the first hours after birth, supplemented with the almond mushroom Agaricus blazei Murill and vitamin D3 for a healthy immune system.

Colostrum – The natural power cocktail for calves and humans

Colostrum, also called first milk, colostrum and, in cows, beest milk, is the particularly nutritious milk that newborn mammals receive from their mothers in the first days of life. It is rich in proteins, enzymes, vitamins, minerals and growth factors – but above all it contains numerous defence substances, including all the immunoglobulins that the newborn needs to develop its body's own defences.

Cow's colostrum is considered particularly valuable and well tolerated by humans. Its composition is almost identical to that of human colostrum, but with a much higher concentration. This is because, unlike humans, calves are born without protection against infection, since the placenta of cows (as well as that of other ruminants, pigs or horses) does not allow antibodies to pass through to the embryo.

Particularly rich: the colostrum of the first 12 hours

Colostrum is essential for the survival of the newborn calf. Its content of protective substances is therefore also highest in the crucial first 12 hours after birth. It is precisely this still particularly nutritious colostrum that is contained in Pro Agalostrum. To ensure that the high-quality proteins in particular are not damaged by heating, the colostrum is sterilised by cold sterile filtration and gently freeze-dried.

... What about the calves?

Don't worry: They get fed first. Nursing cows usually produce much more colostrum than their calves need. Only the surplus may be used for colostrum products.
