Powerful antioxidant for healthy cells: Astaxanthin is a substance that microalgae such as the blood rain algae (Haematococcus pluvialis) store in large quantities when they are exposed to high levels of sunlight and therefore stress. The maximum dose for food supplements set by the EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) is 8 mg. The acceptable daily intake (ADI) is 0.2 mg per kg body weight. It is defined as the dose that is considered medically safe for lifelong daily intake. We therefore recommend calculating the individual daily dose before taking several TISSO products with astaxanthin at the same time.
