PEA – your body's own helper
PEA (palmitoylethanolamide) is an endogenous substance from the group of endogenous fatty acid amides. It is produced by almost all body cells from palmitic acid – especially when the body reacts to certain stimuli such as pain, inflammation or stress.
PEA fulfils an important protective and regulatory function: it supports the body's natural ability to process stimuli better, balance cell reactions and regulate inflammatory processes. The nervous system, the immune system and muscle and connective tissue in particular benefit from this mechanism. Due to these diverse properties, PEA is increasingly becoming the focus of research and practice.
In phases of increased stress, as for pain and stress, a targeted intake via nutritional supplements can be useful to support the natural PEA level.
PEA: effect, application and benefits
