Pro Präbioma
With 4 soluble dietary fibres – The right food for your intestinal bacteria: Soluble fibre is the main food for your good intestinal bacteria. Especially the beneficial lactobacilli and bifidobacteria feed on it. Pro Präbioma contains a carefully selected combination of four soluble dietary fibres, rounded off with calcium and zinc to support metabolism and digestion.
Slowly fermentable dietary fibre for optimal digestibility
Many soluble dietary fibres are broken down very quickly by the intestinal bacteria. This produces a lot of gas very quickly – a common cause of flatulence and bloating.
Pro Präbioma contains only dietary fibres that are fermented particularly slowly in the intestine and is therefore excellently tolerated even by those with sensitive digestion.
Pro Präbioma – The unique fibre quartet
Partially hydrolysed guar gum (PHGG)
Guar gum comes from the seeds of the Asian guar bean. It consists mainly of the plant gum guaran, a polysaccharide (multiple sugar) of galactose and mannose. Through enzymatic partial hydrolysis, a heat- and pH-stable, non-gelling powder is produced during extraction.
Acacia fibre (Acacia gum, Arabic gum)
Acacia fibres contain over 90% soluble dietary fibre. They are derived from the dried and purified milk sap of acacia trees. Acacia fibre is a complex, highly branched polysaccharide.
Resistant dextrin (RS4)
Resistant dextrin is a form of resistant starch. Just like “normal starch”, resistant starch is also made up from glucose molecules. However, it can’t be metabolised by human digestive enzymes and therefore belongs to the group of the soluble fibres. With resistant dextrin (RS4), the glucose chains have been primarily altered through heat and hydrochloric acid. Resistant dextrin is particularly stable.
α-gluco-oligosaccharides (GOSα, BioEcolians®) are special carbohydrates made up from glucose that are enzymatically extracted from natural monosaccharide sugars. A certain α-glycoside bond in its glucose chain makes it indigestible for human beings. Useful gut bacteria, by contrast, can use their own enzymes to split the GOSα into valuable, short-chain fatty acids.
Fibres are non-digestible plant-based foods. They belong to the group of carbohydrates, but don’t supply the body with any energy. The human body cannot or can only partially process them, because it lacks the appropriate enzymes to do so. Nevertheless, they are an indispensable part of a healthy and balanced diet.
Soluble ‒ insoluble
Fibres can be divided into soluble swelling agents and insoluble fillers. Soluble fibres such as pectins, resistant starches or inulin are mostly found in fruit and vegetables; insoluble fibres such as cellulose and lignin are primarily found in cereals and legumes. Both perform important tasks in the gastrointestinal tract and, thus, for the whole body too.
Soluble fibres are also known as fermentable fibres. Useful gut bacteria feed mainly on them. With the help of their own enzymes, they split the fibres and ferment them into important short-chain fatty acids, particularly butyric acid (butyrate), acetic acid (acetate) and propionic acid (propionate).
Health-related statements:
- Calcium contributes to the normal function of digestive enzymes and to normal energy metabolism.
- Zinc contributes to the carbohydrate and fatty acid metabolism and to the function of the immune system.

* Percentage of the recommended daily consumption, according to FIC
- RECOMMENDED INTAKE: Stir 2 x 5 g of powder daily (5 g correspond to approx. 1 slightly heaped measuring spoon or 1 slightly heaped teaspoon) into still water, juice or tea. Dissolves very quickly in warm or hot drinks. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. The intake should occur gradually, i.e. starting with 1/2 measuring spoon per day, and gradually increasing the dosage by 1/2 measuring spoon every two days until reaching a total of two measuring spoons.
- Notes: Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Store in a cool, dry place away from light. Keep out of the reach of children.
- Special notes: Fill level determined by production. Water soluble and tasteless powder.
